Account Fusion: Concurrency across accounts

🚀👥📄 When collaborating with other people, we're often wasting time when someone invites us to the wrong account or email address. Maybe we need to logout and login to the right account, or maybe use multiple browsers or incognito windows, or ask the inviter to invite us with a different address. Account Fusion addresses many challenges with managing multiple accounts and content across documents, projects, and teams.

Accounts and Aliases

Accepting an invite

The way you want to work

Selecting an account or alias when accepting an invite is powerful.

If an invite gets sent to an email address that is not yet linked to your profile, you can easily add it to your profile as an account or alias, verify access, and then accept the invite!.

Accounts vs. Aliases

Accounts vs. Aliases

Add additional accounts, or email aliases for existing accounts

Accounts: Within your Living Spec profile, each account functions as an individual user. For example, you might have separate accounts for work and for personal use.

Aliases: Aliases refer to alternative email addresses associated with a single account. For instance, if you have both [email protected] and [email protected], you can designate one as an alias. This allows you to treat both email addresses as a unified account.

Password and Google SSO

Password and Google SSO

Use a password or Google to login

Living Spec supports logging in with both Google Single Sign-On (SSO) and a password using the same email address.

If you initially logged in with Google, you now have the freedom to set a password by selecting the Forgot password option.

Future updates will introduce support for Apple and Okta SSO and other providers.

Combine existing accounts

Combine existing accounts

Fuse separate accounts into a single experience

If you currently maintain multiple separate Living Spec accounts, you can fuse them into a single profile. To do that, simply use the transfer code in your profile provided by Living Spec to pass on access from one account to another.

Note: Sharing an account credential with multiple individuals is not recommended. It is not yet possible to share an account across multiple profiles. For example, if you have a default contact account used for creating and sharing public-facing documentation, it should not be combined into an individual user's profile.
